Marasco appointed to GA Group Board of Directors

Great American Holdings appointed James Marasco to its Board of Directors and named him Head of the Compensation Committee.

Great American Holdings, a provider of valuation, appraisal, asset disposition and real estate services, announced that  James (“Jim”) Marasco has been appointed to its Board of Directors.

Marasco will serve as a Board Member and Head of the Compensation Committee.

“We are thrilled to have Jim join the GA Group Board,” said Nick Basso, Board Member. “With decades of experience in commercial lending and a broad background in financial services management, Jim brings invaluable expertise and perspective. His contributions will enhance our strategic discussions as we work to drive growth and continually improve the value we deliver to clients, partners, and stakeholders.”

With over 35 years of experience in commercial lending and financial services, Marasco also serves on the Board of Directors of Hanmi Financial Corporation (HAFC) and held the position of Executive Vice President and Head of Originations at Gibraltar Business Capital, a national middle-market direct lender. From 2021 to 2023, he also served as an independent director at Gibraltar. Before joining Gibraltar, Marasco was a Strategic Advisor for Crescent Capital Group, L.P., a Los Angeles-based asset manager managing over $40 billion in assets at the time. From 1989 to 2021, he held various leadership roles in originations and capital markets at Wells Fargo Capital Finance, a division of Wells Fargo & Company. He was a member of the senior credit committee for the company’s asset-based lending and specialty businesses, and also served on the administrative, management, and operating committees. Marasco holds a B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University.
