MACCO Restructuring Group promoted Kathy Mayle to senior director and hired Frank Cottrell and Blake Denbina as directors in its Houston office. In addition, company founder Drew McManigle was selected as one of six Houston-based, Title 11, Subchapter V (Small Business) Chapter 11 Trustees by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the United States Trustee.

“We have all seen and felt the dramatic personal, business and economic effects resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and our thoughts and prayers for the health and safety of all people are paramount at this unprecedented time,” McManigle said. “That said, MACCO is open for business and growing with the confidence that, as citizens and a nation, we will recover and once again thrive. As we continue to serve the increasing needs of companies who find themselves in financial or operational peril, I’m very pleased to announce these accomplished additions and a notable promotion.”

Mayle was promoted to senior director with more than 25 years of experience.

“Kathy, with her experience derived from over 25 years in a law firm environment combined with her insight and detailed financial skills, complemented by her knowledge of how and why businesses fail, her deep chapter 11 bankruptcy understanding and her administrative excellence, simply is a linchpin of the firm and highly deserving of this promotion,” McManigle said.

Cottrell is a turnaround and restructuring professional with more than 10 years of operational experience in organizations ranging from private equity-backed portfolio companies to public entities. Cottrell has held leadership roles with P&L responsibilities, including serving as interim CFO. His industry experience includes energy, manufacturing, oilfield services, offshore/subsea, construction, government contracting, engineering, consumer services, RTO, financial services, tort litigation, education, retail, medical, technology and real estate.

Denbina has more than 17 years of operational experience at both the civic and private business levels. He has been a utility business operations executive for the City of Houston and held ownership and leadership roles at both a strategic management consulting firm and in hospitality. He has led cross functional engineering and design teams for civil engineering projects for both Harris County and the Texas Department of Transportation. He is a State of Texas Certified Mediator and holds FINRA Series 6 & 63 Financial Licenses.
