PlainsCapital Bank expanded its commercial banking team in Austin, TX, with the addition of Laura Kane and Rodney Thompson as senior vice presidents of commercial lending and Carly McCollum as a commercial loan officer.

“We’re excited to welcome Laura, Rodney and Carly to our Austin lending team — one of our core markets — where they will be instrumental in meeting the lending and banking needs of Texas’ small to mid-size businesses,” Paul Holubec, Austin region chairman for PlainsCapital Bank, said. “Whether our clients want to change the direction of their business or stay on track, it’s our goal to back their financial initiatives with high quality lending solutions and banking advice. Our new lenders’ experience in this field will broaden the spectrum of partners we can serve within the region while strengthening our position as a leading Texas-based bank.”

“The nature of the lending market requires professionals who are capable of serving a wide range of industries,” Steve Hambrick, Texas region chairman for PlainsCapital Bank, said. “Laura, Rodney and Carly understand what it means to provide exemplary service and well-suited products to business owners, which makes them a good fit for our talented Austin lending group.”

Kane has nearly 25 years of commercial banking experience, primarily in the Austin, TX, area. She previously served for 10 years as vice president and Austin market leader at Crockett National Bank’s real estate and banking group. She has commercial banking experience in a range of sectors, including owner occupied and investment real estate, construction, industrial, wholesale, land acquisition, recreational land purchases and nonprofits.

Thompson has 25 years of financial services experience, including 20 years in commercial banking. Most recently, Thompson served as senior vice president at BBVA, where he developed relationships between the bank and corporate clients. During his time with BBVA, he served clients with annual revenues ranging from $10 million to $500 million.

McCollum has more than two years of experience in commercial lending and banking. She served as an associate relationship manager at Frost National Bank in Dallas before joining PlainsCapital Bank.
