Wiggin and Dana Adds Restructuring Partner Van Heel in South Florida

Wiggin and Dana hired Miami-based restructuring partner Tamara Van Heel in South Florida, further expanding its platform in the state following the launch of a new Boca Raton office earlier this year.

“As a Miami native, Tamara brings deep understanding of the local market along with sophisticated restructuring experience that provides a key boost to our South Florida expansion,” Tim Diemand, managing partner of Wiggin and Dana, said. “We’re committed to strategic growth that aligns with our clients’ needs, and Tamara will be an important asset as organizations prepare for the next restructuring wave.”

“Tamara’s restructuring focus complements our high-end corporate practice well,” William Perrone, corporate department chair at Wiggin and Dana, said. “We’re excited to introduce this attractive offering to South Florida clients and advance our broader restructuring capabilities amid an uptick in bankruptcy filings.”

Van Heel represents debtors, creditors, committees, trustees, landlords and purchasers of claims and assets in restructuring and bankruptcy matters, including complex Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 cases. She also represents and advises businesses and individuals in a range of commercial disputes. Van Heel joins Wiggin and Dana from Miami-based law firm Agentis. Earlier in her career, she practiced at White & Case, and as a solo practitioner.

“I’ve practiced at large and small firms, and Wiggin and Dana feels like a ‘Goldilocks’ fit. It’s the ideal balance of large firm sophistication and intelligence with small firm nimbleness and personalization,” Van Heel said. “Wiggin and Dana’s platform is an excellent match for the South Florida market. I’m excited to be at the forefront of the firm’s growth here while deepening my service to local clients.”
