Twenty-nine-year banking veteran Jim Strickland joined Opus Bank as senior managing director – Commercial Banking. Strickland will be responsible for expanding Opus’ commercial and corporate client base in the San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita Valley regions of Los Angeles County.

Strickland most recently served as senior vice president and relationship manager of Commercial Banking at City National Bank. While there, he was responsible for developing and maintaining a portfolio of middle market commercial clients in San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita Valley. From 2010 to 2015, Strickland served as senior vice president of Business Banking at Citibank, and from 2003 to 2010, led a team responsible for growing commercial banking loan production at U.S. Bank. Strickland began his career in 1989 with Security Pacific Bank.
