Stonepeak Promotes Howell and Taylor to Co-President Roles

byIan Koplin

in People

Stonepeak, an alternative investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets, named Jack Howell and Luke Taylor co-presidents of the firm, promoting them from their former roles as co-chief operating officers. Michael Dorrell, a co-founder of Stonepeak, will remain CEO and chairman.

The promotion is a continuation of the rise of Howell and Taylor within the firm, with both starting with Stonepeak around its inception. Howell and Taylor will continue to have oversight of the firm’s day-to-day activities globally. Dorrell will continue to lead the firm with a focus on investing, strategy and partner relationships.

“These promotions further strengthen the firm, increasing our leadership depth and providing space for our next generation of stars to rise,” Dorrell said. “It affords me the leverage to focus on the areas I believe are most important to our partners, particularly investing and risk management. Luke and Jack are exceptional, and we are fortunate to be in a position to promote from within.”

“We have been business partners and great friends for nearly a decade,” Howell and Taylor said in a joint statement. “As the firm has grown, we believe we have balanced the entrepreneurial spirit of Stonepeak’s small partnership that is key to the firm’s success with the institutionalization appropriate for a firm now managing around $58 billion of partner capital. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Mike and our deep bench of talent as we diligently execute on our investment strategies and carefully steward the capital of our more than 260 investors.”
