Snydifi Promotes Canal to Chief Growth Officer

byIan Koplin

in People

Syndifi, an online syndication software provider built specifically for the equipment finance industry, promoted Alistair Canal to chief growth officer. In this leadership role, Canal will be responsible for revenue growth, profit and loss management, product development oversight, the scaling of Syndifi’s market reach and the securing of the continuity of the company’s sales and marketing value propositions.

After joining Syndifi in 2021, Canal added the necessary structure, processes and tools required to scale and grow the company. In addition, he focused on forging customer relations while managing customer demands by anticipating and serving their needs. He played a pivotal role in developing and launching Syndifi’s latest platform innovation, Deal Pools. This feature enables sellers to pool together multiple deals in one concise data visualization dashboard.

“Combining his wealth of knowledge and background in sales, marketing, operations, product development and finance, I am more than confident in Alistair’s ability to steer and grow our company,” Dan Michalek, founder and CEO of Syndifi, said. “As chief growth officer, Al will enable us to identify and capitalize on company-wide strategic growth opportunities that better position Syndifi to deliver strong outcomes to both our clients and our stakeholders.”

For nearly two decades, Canal has held leadership posts at multiple financial and compliance firms, including Bankers Healthcare Group, Promontory Financial Group and Live Oak Bank, where he co-launched the equipment finance division.

“I’m elated to take on the chief growth officer role at Syndifi and advance our company’s mission to modernize the equipment finance industry,” Canal said. “I am committed to knocking down growth barriers and propelling our company forward to ultimately enable buyers and sellers within equipment finance to syndicate smarter.”

Canal will be a panelist on Monitor’s upcoming livestream, “Syndicating Like it’s 1999? Unpacking and Overcoming the Mindset of a Resistant Culture.” The event, which will be held on March 30 at 1 p.m. EST, will discuss concerns around digitization and its potential to impact important facets of syndication, including security, entrenched processes and more.
