Andrew Bauch joined the U.S. equities research team at SMBC Nikko Securities America, a member of SMBC Group, as a director and senior research analyst covering the payments, processors and financial technology sector. Bauch will report to Ed Maguire, the U.S. research principal for SMBC Nikko Securities America.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Andrew Bauch to the U.S. equities research team,” Trevor Hill, global head of equity for SMBC Nikko Securities, said. “With the addition of Andrew, we continue to broaden and deepen our footprint and client offering for U.S. equities across research, sales and trading.”

“We are further building on our strong capabilities across several vertical sets, including technology, healthcare, REITs and energy,” Rick Hanley, head of U.S. equities for SMBC Nikko Securities America, said. “And, more specifically, in the technology space, our focus continues to broaden into other areas, now spanning the payments, processors and fintech, semiconductors and software industries. Andrew is a great fit for our growing team.”

Bauch joined SMBC Nikko Securities America from Wolfe Research. Prior to that, he was with Barclays, where he was the lead associate supporting the senior analyst on an institutional investor team covering payments, processors and IT services companies. Before moving to research, Bauch worked in leveraged finance and credit underwriting at Barclays covering the broader TMT sector. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers with coverage of the banking and capital markets sector.
