Smart Joins PlainsCapital Bank as Senior Commercial Loan Officer in Fort Worth

PlainsCapital Bank welcomed Travis Smart to its Fort Worth lending team as senior vice president, senior commercial loan officer. He will be based at the bank’s downtown Fort Worth location at 801 Houston Street.

In his new role, Smart will focus on developing and managing client relationships, providing tailored commercial loan solutions and offering PlainsCapital’s diverse range of products and services to support commercial customers.

“Travis has built a solid career in commercial banking, particularly in the Dallas-Fort Worth market,” Mark Warren, chairman of the Fort Worth region, said. “His dedication to helping clients succeed, focus on personal and responsive service and ability to build strong relationships make him a great fit for our team as we continue to support our clients’ growth.”

Smart brings over 12 years of experience in commercial banking. Before joining PlainsCapital, he served as vice president and commercial banker at Trinity Bank for more than five years, playing an integral role on the lending team. Prior to that, he spent nearly seven years at Frost Bank, where he held various commercial lending roles, including associate relationship manager, relationship banking officer and assistant vice president, commercial banker.

“I’m thrilled to join PlainsCapital and work alongside such a talented team,” Smart said. “I look forward to collaborating with clients across Dallas-Fort Worth to help them grow and succeed.”

Smart graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting.
