Seward & Kissel promoted Andrew Robertson and Kris Swiatek to partner.

“Throughout their time at our firm, Andrew and Kris have provided great value to their clients,” Jim Cofer, managing partner of Seward & Kissel, said. “Our new partners embody our commitment to serving clients through effective counsel across a broad range of practices.”

Andrew Robertson, a member of the corporate group, brings nearly two decades of experience to the firm’s structured finance practice, with a focus on broadly syndicated collateralized loan obligations. As an associate at other firms and a vice president of the U.S. CLO Group at Goldman, Sachs, Robertson spearheaded dozens of complex finance transactions, and he boasts experience in deals originating in both the U.S. and Europe. Robertson is admitted to practice law in New York, Maryland and the District of Columbia and is admitted to the rolls as a solicitor of England and Wales. He received his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management.

Kris Swiatek, a member of the firm’s investment management group, advises sponsors and managers of private investment funds, including hedge, private equity, private credit and venture capital funds, regarding formation, structuring and capital raising matters. He has extensive experience structuring onshore and offshore investment vehicles, such as special purpose, co-investment, funds-of-one vehicles and separately managed accounts. Swiatek also counsels registered and unregistered investment advisers on regulatory and compliance matters, including their compliance policies and procedures and regulatory filings, as well as general corporate matters such as management entity operating agreements. He is also a member of the firm’s blockchain and cryptocurrency group, advising clients in the crypto industry on the foregoing and related matters. He received his B.A. from Rutgers University and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
