AlixPartners appointed Roger Sawhney managing director of its Healthcare Practice.
Drawing on more than two decades of strategy consulting experience in the healthcare sector, Sawhney will co-lead the practice during a time of transformative change.
He will be tasked with guiding and growing AlixPartners’ healthcare practice as the industry navigates regulatory change, emerging technologies, and an aging population. Sawhney will support both corporate clients and private equity firms in his new role.
Before joining AlixPartners, he was senior vice president at healthcare technology company Outcome Health in New York, leading the firm’s corporate strategy. Prior to that, Sawhney was a partner in Bain’s healthcare and private equity practices, where he helped healthcare firms and private equity funds improve their strategic position and competitive advantage. Prior to his work with Bain, he was global head of Corporate Strategy and senior vice president at Swiss pharmaceutical giant Novartis from 2009-2012.
From 1996 to 2009, Sawhney worked at the Boston Consulting Group, reaching the position of partner and managing director in the firm’s health care practice area. While at BCG, he led numerous strategy consulting engagements within the biotech and pharma industries, working across areas including restructuring, growth, licensing and M&A.
“Roger brings a unique background and deep expertise at a time when corporations or private equity firms in the healthcare and life sciences industries are facing an unprecedented amount of disruption,” said AlixPartners CEO Simon Freakley.
