Riemer & Braunstein promoted four lawyers to senior partner and hired two lawyers in its New York office to strengthen its real estate finance practice area.

“The firm is excited to announce the well-deserved elevation of four key members of our finance practice to senior partnership,” Kevin Lyons, a member of Riemer & Braunstein’s executive committee and a co-chair of the firm’s real estate finance practice area.

Riemer & Braunstein promoted Jaime Rachel Koff from junior partner to senior partner in commercial finance. Koff works primarily out of the firm’s Boston office. Koff’s practice focuses on financing for commercial lenders with particular emphasis on asset-based and cash flow transactions.

The firm also promoted Jonathan P. Baumstark, Christina Egan Shvartsman and Thomas D. Gianturco to senior partners in real estate finance. Baumstark joined the firm as a junior partner in 2017 and has practiced in the firm’s New York office. Shvartsman joined the firm in 2015 as a junior partner in the firm’s Boston office. Gianturco joined the firm’s Chicago office in 2011 and became a junior partner in 2015.

Baumstark, Shvartsman and Gianturco represent financial institutions and other institutional clients in connection with single-lender and agented, multi-lender construction, mezzanine and permanent financing projects on a local, regional and national basis.

“The firm remains committed to recognizing the contributions of those attorneys who have demonstrated a dedication to the firm and provide high-quality legal services to our clients,” Kevin Murtagh, a member of the firm’s executive committee and a co-chair of the firm’s commercial finance practice area, said.

Riemer & Braunstein also added Serhat Krause and Benjamin Schachter as attorneys to its real estate finance team in New York. Krause most recently practiced at Debevoise & Plimpton and joined Riemer & Braunstein as a junior partner. Krause has experience in the representation of lenders, developers and equity investors in real estate and real estate finance transactions. Schachter previously practiced at the New York law firm of Goldstein Hall and joined Riemer & Braunstein as an associate.

Riemer & Braunstein is a law firm specializing in the representation of financial institutions and debt and equity funds in national and regional commercial finance and real estate finance transactions.
