Moses Singer Names Goodman-Stephens its First CEO

Law firm Moses Singer hired Rebecca Goodman-Stephens as the firm’s first CEO.

With more than 18 years of experience in business strategy and operations, Goodman-Stephens has led departments and services lines at several institutions and companies. She joined Moses Singer from the accounting firm Berdon, where she served as the chief operating officer. At Moses Singer, Goodman-Stephens will formulate and execute Moses Singer’s strategic growth plan and lead the firm’s operational and administrative functions.

“We welcome Rebecca at a very opportune time,” Dean Swagert, managing partner of Moses Singer, said. “The firm is embracing a relatively new model of law firm management for mid-size firms, using experienced executives to run the business side of the firm and freeing lawyers to do what they do best: practicing law. An accomplished leader and innovative strategist, Rebecca will improve the delivery of legal services and overall client and employee experience, enabling Moses Singer to maintain and grow its position as a leading middle-market law firm, benefiting our clients, employees and communities.”

Prior to Berdon, Goodman-Stephens was with Mazars Group from 2008 until the end of 2016, first as chief of staff in charge of strategy and operations in Paris before relocating to New York to spearhead the integration and growth of WeiserMazars. She also practiced as a business strategy and organization coach and consultant as well as a patient clinician specializing in cross-cultural psychology and pain management.

“I’m very excited to join Moses Singer,” Goodman-Stephens said. “The firm’s impressive 100-plus year history and long-standing institutional clients are testament to its ability to withstand market trends and turmoil. The collaborative and entrepreneurial culture are an ideal fit.”
