Francis C. Meagher joined Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi HC Capital America, as vice president of legal affairs and senior counsel for institutional transactions and special loans.

With more than 35 years of experience as an attorney, Meagher has practiced in the areas of insurance and business law, as well as commercial litigation. His specialties include corporate finance and, more specifically, the execution of securities and financing for different types of assets (including equipment), corporate restructuring and contract negotiation.

“Contributing to the future of Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada is something I’m quite excited about,” Meagher said. “My expertise in commercial and corporate matters, as well as my experience as a litigator, are assets that I’m looking to utilize strategically as the company moves towards its next phase of growth.”

Meagher’s experience includes past work for financial institutions, small and medium-sized businesses, and insurance and securities brokers, both in matters of business law and court claims. His expertise in business law covers corporate financing, drafting and negotiating various agreements such as shareholder and loan agreements and commercial leases, as well as incorporations, the purchase and sale of businesses and the various aspects of bankruptcy, insolvency, repossession of commercial equipment and protection of securities granted to clients.

“Given Francis’ solid experience, skills and capabilities, we are confident that he will be an indispensable resource to our company and contribute significantly as we continue diversifying our portfolio,” François Nantel, president of Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada, said.
