MidCap Business Credit added Terry Dougherty and Jay Cunningham to its risk team.

“As we continue to grow and build out our portfolio, it is imperative to have [the] right employees in place to meet our customers’ and partners’ needs,” Peter Rutigliano, executive vice president of MidCap Business Credit, said. “We are excited to have Terry and Jay onboard as they bring the experience and expertise we need to enhance our risk team”.

Dougherty joined MidCap Business Credit as senior vice president and head of underwriting. Dougherty was previously with CNH Finance as managing director of commercial asset-based lending. Dougherty’s collective experience spans nearly 25 years in the banking and commercial finance industry with a focus on asset-based lending and corporate cash flow transactions. Prior to CNH Finance, Dougherty worked for MidCap Financial, MB Financial, BB&T and CapitalSource. Dougherty began his career as a corporate field examiner with M&T Bank and has since held various front and back-end positions, including senior relationship manager, portfolio manager, credit officer, and senior loan workout and restructuring officer.

Cunningham joined MidCap Business Credit as senior vice president and head of credit and diligence. Prior to joining Midcap Business Credit, Cunningham spent 27 years at GE Capital in risk and credit roles of increasing responsibility across a variety of industries and product areas, including asset-based lending, factoring, leveraged finance, workouts and restructuring.
