Kian Capital Partners, a lower-middle-market-focused private investment firm, promoted Carter Fields to vice president, and Thomas Bullock and Doyle Silvia to senior associates.
Carter joined the Kian team as an associate in 2019 after working as an analyst at Wells Fargo Securities in the industrial coverage group. He was promoted to senior associate in January of 2023. He holds a B.S. in business administration with a finance concentration from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Scheller College of Business. In his new role as vice president, he will be taking a more active role in the investment process by leading various diligence streams and serving as a trusted point of contact for key stakeholders involved throughout the process.
“The biggest differentiator is our balanced and positive culture combined with a humble, low-ego approach,” Carter said. “I believe it is the attitude and culture with which Kian approaches investing and partnering with management teams that will enable it to be a long-lasting and enduring firm.”
Bullock joined Kian in 2022 as an associate. Before Kian, Thomas worked in franchise development at Driven Brands, and, prior to that, he worked as an analyst at Jefferies in the consumer and retail group. Bullock focuses on financial performance evaluation and trend analysis, deal sourcing and strategic planning for current investments. As a senior associate, he will take on more responsibility in deal evaluation and in partnering with management teams within Kian’s portfolio.
Silvia also joined Kian in 2022 as an associate, having previously held the role of analyst at VRA Partners. He is primarily responsible for evaluating and underwriting new investment opportunities and monitoring existing portfolio investments. With the promotion, Silvia will take on more responsibility in deal evaluation and in partnering with management teams within Kian’s portfolio.
“In my time thus far with Kian, I have been given the support and tools to expand upon my modeling and valuation capabilities and knowledge of transaction documentation while still focusing on building deeper connections with founders and management teams,” Bullock said.
“Kian has consistently provided me with opportunities to grow and learn in a variety of areas across new investment underwriting and portfolio management,” Doyle said. “The team provides an incredible support network, which has allowed me to grow my skill set exponentially. It has been an exciting time to be at Kian and I am looking forward to being a part of the continued growth of the firm.”
“Carter, Thomas and Doyle are integral members of the Kian team — we’re proud to honor their dedication and consistent performance with these well-deserved promotions,” Kevin McCarthy, co-founder and managing partner of Kian, said. “We are confident that each of them will continue to advance in their careers and contribute to the success of the firm.”
