Jonathan Katz joined Great Rock Capital, an asset-focused commercial finance company specializing in middle-market lending, as managing director of originations. Katz will be based in Toronto and be responsible for the continued expansion of the firm’s origination efforts across Canada.

“We are excited to welcome Jonathan to the team,” Stuart Armstrong, CEO of Great Rock Capital, said. “Jonathan’s deep-rooted network of industry relationships and significant credit experience will drive Great Rock’s growth in the strategic Canadian market.”

Katz joins Great Rock with 25 years of experience in middle-market lending across various origination and credit-focused roles. Most recently, he was managing director at Stonebriar Commercial Finance, where he focused on origination efforts across Canada.  In addition, Katz held origination and credit roles at Macquarie Equipment Finance, Key Equipment Finance Canada, GE Capital and IBM Canada.

“I am thrilled to join Great Rock and become a part of such an innovative team,” Katz said. “Great Rock’s asset-focused approach and capability to lend in Canadian currency, coupled with my middle market lending expertise, will benefit middle market companies across Canada by providing valuable liquidity and growth capital. I look forward to playing a role in the firm’s continued success.”
