Hilco Bolsters Specialist Real Estate Lending Division

Real estate lender Hilco Real Estate Finance appointed Alexey Shokin senior business development consultant and promoted Patrick Davenport-Jenkins to the role of vice president.

Over the last five years, Shokin has arranged more than £200 million ($250.23 million) of loans and has developed a reputation in the industry for his connections in international family offices and borrowers, both in Europe and Asia.

“I am really pleased to join Hilco,” Shokin said. “I have worked with the team since they entered the market last year and I have been hugely impressed with their ability to deliver lending solutions for their clients in a commercial and expeditious manner.”

Having spent six years working across real estate and financial services, including a graduate position at Morgan Stanley, Davenport-Jenkins joined Hilco Real Estate Finance as an associate in 2023 when the new division was launched. In his new role, Davenport-Jenkins will help serve clients in the north of England and Scotland.

“When I joined HREF last year, I saw that it was a fantastic opportunity to help develop what I believe will become one of the leading real estate lending businesses in the UK,” Davenport-Jenkins said. “I’m excited to be stepping up by originating my own loans and taking on more responsibility in underwriting and executing transactions.”

“We are seeing increasing demand for our services as the traditional banking sector is failing to meet the lending requirements of a significant segment of the market,” Brad Altberger, CEO and co-founder of Hilco Real Estate Finance, said. “We are a client focused organization, and the addition of Alexey and promotion of Patrick strengthens our ability to meet the demands of our clients.”
