Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal appointed Patrick Hickey a managing director in the firm’s Houston-based energy group, which is within its corporate performance improvement practice.

Hickey specializes in energy and financial structuring for debt, equity and mezzanine financing within the oil and gas sectors. He has experience originating, executing and managing transactions along with guiding upstream and midstream capital investments. He also has been involved with several restructurings.

Hickey has held numerous board appointments, including at Harvest Oil & Gas, formerly EV Energy Partners, Elba Liquefaction Company, Kinder Morgan’s Elba Island LNG facility, Rosehill Resources and Jonah Energy.

“Patrick’s deep experience across energy industry sectors will enhance our ability to help clients adapt to significant disruptions underway. His experience as an energy industry operator, investor, board member and advisor is a great asset that will help us bring unique perspectives to our clients. His approach aligns with our leadership, action, results mindset for maximizing value for our clients,” Lee Maginniss, managing director with A&M, said.

Prior to joining A&M, Hickey served as a senior advisor to Post Oak Energy Capital. He also has served as a managing director and a senior member of EIG Global Energy Partner’s Houston-based oil and gas investment team. Additionally, Hickey has worked originating and executing mezzanine financings for oil and gas producers while with Duke Capital Partners and then with Wells Fargo Energy Capital. He has also served in various energy finance and marketing roles for Enron Corporation and worked for ARCO as a reservoir engineer.
