Mignon Winston joined Great Rock Capital, an asset-focused commercial finance company specializing in middle market lending, as a vice president of underwriting. She will be based in Connecticut and serve as one of the company’s underwriting team leaders.

“We are happy to welcome Mignon to the team,” Kathy Auda, chief risk officer of Great Rock Capital, said. “Her robust credit knowledge and extensive experience in the asset-based lending industry will be instrumental as we continue to grow and scale the Great Rock platform.”

Winston joins Great Rock with more than 30 years of experience in asset-based middle market lending. Most recently, as a managing director at White Oak Commercial Finance, she evaluated and managed the approval and closing of new business transactions. Winston has also held underwriting, credit administration and portfolio management roles at Sterling National Bank, First Capital, Wells Fargo Bank, CIT and Heller Financial, plus received formal credit training at Chemical Bank. She is an active member of Turnaround Management Association and the Secured Finance Network, where she currently serves on its Education and Women in Secured Finance committees.

“Mignon is an excellent addition to our underwriting team,” Christina Zielinski, head of underwriting and senior vice president of Great Rock Capital, said. “As we capitalize on our recent successes and execute on our growth initiatives for 2023, Mignon’s industry experience and credit insight will bolster the depth of our team.”

“I’m excited about joining a firm with an innovative approach to analyzing and structuring middle market lending opportunities,” Winston said. “My underwriting experience will be a complementary resource, and I look forward to being a key contributor to the continued growth and success of Great Rock.”
