Stephen Shelton joined Great Rock Capital, an asset-focused commercial finance company specializing in middle market lending, as managing director of originations. Shelton will be responsible for expanding the firm’s origination efforts throughout New York City and the surrounding area.

“Stephen is an excellent addition to our growing team,” Stuart Armstrong, CEO of Great Rock Capital, said. “His lending and credit expertise, coupled with his long-standing industry relationships, will be a key driver as we continue to increase our footprint across the region.”

Shelton joins Great Rock with more than 30 years of experience in middle market lending. For much of his career, he held senior-origination and portfolio management positions with commercial lenders including PNC Business Credit, UMB Bank, BBVA Compass and Bank of America. Most recently, as a managing director at B. Riley Advisory Services, Shelton was responsible for business development across the New York Metro and Mid-Atlantic regions.

“I am thrilled to be part of the Great Rock Team,” Shelton said. “I look forward to leveraging my strong private equity and commercial lending relationships to expand the firm’s new business efforts. Middle market companies looking to maximize liquidity and propel business growth will benefit from the bespoke financial solutions offed by Great Rock.”
