Global mergers and acquisitions slowed in February, with no deals exceeding $10 billion announced during the month, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.
The lull in major transactions follows a strong start to 2025, which saw four deals above the $10 billion threshold in January. The last month without a megadeal of that size was July 2024.
Through the first two months of the year, the number of large global M&A deals trails the same period in 2024 by four, the data shows. The slowdown comes amid economic uncertainty and shifting market conditions that may be dampening high-value dealmaking.
