Gibraltar Business Capital Hires Thomas as SVP, Underwriting Manager

in People

Gibraltar Business Capital hired S.N. Thomas as a senior vice president and underwriting manager.

As part of his career, Thomas spent more than 20 years at Wells Fargo, primarily in the asset-based lending group. During that time, he also gained investment banking experience working on debt and equity capital raises. Most recently, he worked at White Oak Commercial Finance as a managing director in the underwriting group working on conforming and stretch asset-based lending facilities.

Thomas began his career at Ernst and Young primarily working in the corporate finance group on mergers and acquisitions transactions. Throughout his career, he has worked on a broad range of corporate finance transactions and helped his clients achieve diverse goals.

This addition to the GBC credit team aligns with Gibraltar’s commitment to continually invest in strategies and people to drive growth and innovation. The new underwriting manager position comes on the heels of GBC bringing on Jim Marasco as head of originations to further position the organization for growth. Gibraltar also recently increased its financing capabilities with a market expansion and launched a new equipment financing company, Gibraltar Equipment Finance.

“A greater investment in underwriting capabilities is a natural extension of our growth as we continue to serve more types and sizes of middle market businesses,” Jeffrey Stanek, chief credit officer at GBC, said. “We are excited to add another seasoned lending expert to our robust, talented credit team.”
