FTI Consulting has appointed Peter Dumas as a managing director in the lender services practice within the firm’s corporate finance and restructuring segment.

Dumas, who is based in Dallas, joins with nearly four decades of experience in asset-based lending across a variety of industries, including healthcare, automotive, distribution, manufacturing and service. In his role at FTI Consulting, Dumas will focus on asset-based lending engagements, primarily in the syndicated bank loan market.

“In the backdrop of a dynamic economic landscape, lenders and borrowers are looking to maximize value across the transactions lifecycle,” Kris Coghlan, leader of the lender services practice at FTI Consulting, said. “Peter has decades of industry experience that will enhance our team’s ability to provide tailored services to each of our clients.”

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Dumas was a director in Citibank’s asset-based and transitional finance department. In this role, he collaborated with asset-based lending bankers and risk managers on important deal points, participated in deal approvals, engaged third-party due diligence and asset appraisal teams, led the collateral monitoring efforts for the asset-based lending portfolio and worked regularly with bank transactors and outside counsel regarding transaction structuring and credit agreement language.

“FTI Consulting is known as the gold standard in the lender services space,” Dumas said. “I look forward to joining a team of seasoned professionals who are capable of guiding clients through each aspect of the transactional due diligence lending process.”
