FTI Consulting appointed Rupesh Shah and Aaron Terry managing directors within the corporate finance and restructuring segment, adding further restructuring, business transformation and transactions expertise to the firm’s energy, power and products practice.

Shah, who is based in New York, provides merger and acquisition advisory, strategic and financial planning, and risk management advisory services. He also has experience in business valuation analysis, interim management (including CFO and CRO roles), troubled company restructuring, and merger integration planning and execution.

Based in Houston, Terry advises public and private energy companies and lenders within the exploration and production and energy services industry segments. His experience includes cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, upstream and midstream valuations, and financial modeling. He also has advised clients on DIP sizing, bankruptcy preparation and acquisition opportunities.

“The COVID-19 pandemic and economic dynamics have disrupted the energy sector and placed additional stress on global energy businesses,” Albert Conly, a senior managing director and leader of the energy, power and products practice at FTI Consulting, said. “Rupesh and Aaron add to a FTI Consulting team of professionals that brings a unique combination of industry managerial and executive experience to help clients address strategic, financial and regulatory needs that guide positive business outcomes.”

Shah has experience in a range of energy sectors, including utilities, retail energy, conventional generation and renewable generation such as solar, wind and biofuels. In addition to interim management and business transformation engagements, Shah has served as financial advisor to various parties in M&A, including due diligence on behalf of financing sources, identification of acquisition targets, buy and sale assistance, commodity risk assessment, and preparation and negotiation of bids and acquisition agreements on both distressed and healthy investments.

Terry joins FTI Consulting from Kayne Anderson, where he spent 10 years working in senior research roles on the marketable securities team. His research experience covered a portion of the North American energy complex, spanning upstream and midstream companies across U.S. basins and Western Canada. He also managed M&A diligence on various offers for midstream gathering and procession targets in the Permian and Anadarko Basins. Prior to joining Kayne Anderson, Terry worked as a restructuring advisor at Alvarez & Marsal, where he represented public and private energy companies and lenders within the exploration and production and energy services industry segments.

FTI Consulting is a global business advisory firm.
