Faegre Drinker Hires Fallon to Enhance Finance & Restructuring Practice

Faegre Drinker added Brett Fallon to the firm’s Wilmington, DE office as a partner in the finance and restructuring group. Fallon joined the firm from Morris James. He is the ninth attorney to join Faegre Drinker’s finance and restructuring group since June 1, 2020.

Fallon’s hiring follows the addition of multiple finance and restructuring attorneys, including James Conlan and Patrick Corr, and New York partners Laura Appleby and Keith Costa. In July 2020, the firm’s finance and restructuring group added five associates in London and counsel Ian Bambrick in Wilmington, DE.

“Brett is an exceptional restructuring lawyer and litigator who has more than 30 years of experience practicing in the Delaware Courts,” Tom Froehle and Andrew Kassner, co-chairs of Faegre Drinker, said in a joint statement. “He is highly regarded by both clients and the Delaware Bar, and his practice strengthens our well-known and established capabilities in Wilmington. His addition continues the recent expansion of our global finance and restructuring group, which is an area we have targeted for further growth to support our clients in the current economic cycle.”

For more than 30 years, Fallon has represented creditors of multiple types, particularly large-dollar secured and unsecured creditors, creditor committees, and plaintiffs and defendants in post-confirmation actions brought by litigation and liquidation trustees. Fallon has served as national bankruptcy counsel to multiple clients, including Fortune 500 companies. In addition to his established creditor-side practice, Fallon has represented and counseled debtors as both lead and Delaware counsel.

Fallon maintains a corporate litigation practice in the Delaware Court of Chancery and an active commercial litigation practice in the Superior Court and the United States District Court.

“Brett is a longtime, trusted advisor across industries, successfully navigating clients through complex and challenging circumstances,” Mike Stewart, finance and restructuring practice group leader at Faegre Drinker, said. “He brings impressive experience to our team, and his knowledge and skill set will be a valuable resource to our clients with major matters in Delaware.”

Faegre Drinker’s finance and restructuring team comprises more than 100 professionals, including specialists, and advises clients on matters, including financial transactions, corporate debt restructurings, and bankruptcy and litigation matters.

Faegre Drinker launched global operations on Feb. 1, 2020 as the result of the combination of Faegre Baker Daniels and Drinker Biddle & Reath. The merger brought together more than 1,300 attorneys, consultants and professionals in 22 locations across the U.S., UK and China.
