Eastern Bank hired Richard Norberg as vice president, underwriter and portfolio manager focused on asset-based lending. Based in Boston, Norberg’s experience spans asset-based lending as well as broader commercial lending, primarily focused on executing and managing asset-based lending solutions for a range of both retail and commercial and industrial clients. His expertise extends to areas such as portfolio management, new business underwriting and credit analysis.

Prior to joining Eastern Bank, Norberg worked at Citizen’s Bank for 15 years in a variety of roles. His most recent role was senior vice president of portfolio management for the retail finance group in asset-based lending, where he oversaw a commercial loan portfolio averaging $650 million. His responsibilities included optimizing risk-return profiles through proactive risk management, strategic loan structuring and cross-sell initiatives. His contributions were instrumental in developing and implementing portfolio monitoring procedures, evaluating industry trends and helping to ensure compliance with internal audit, risk and external regulatory standards. Norberg collaborated closely with various teams to expand strategic relationships and execute and manage lead left syndicated loan transactions.
