Eagle Point Credit Management, a private credit investment manager, hired Ken Yamashita as managing director, head of client and partner solutions for Japan. Yamashita will report to Kyle McGrady, senior principal and head of client and partner solutions.

In this role, Yamashita will be responsible for maintaining all existing investor relationships and overseeing all institutional business development in the country.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ken to Eagle Point,” McGrady said. “With over 35 years in the industry and over a decade of institutional and alternatives sales experience in Japan, Ken is exceptionally well-positioned to represent our differentiated investment strategies to investors.”

“Ken’s appointment reinforces our long-term commitment to the Japanese market, where we have established longstanding relationships with a strong base of institutional investors,” Thomas Majewski, founder and managing partner of Eagle Point, said. “His deep regional expertise will further enhance our ability to serve our existing clients and expand our presence in a strategically important market for the firm.”

Prior to joining Eagle Point, Yamashita served as an executive director in the financial institutional sales group at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he covered major Japanese financial institutions, including insurance companies, banks, trust banks and asset management companies with a particular focus on providing solutions in alternative investments.

Prior to that, Yamashita served as head of alternatives sales at BlackRock Japan, where he was head of the alternative sales team for Japan and worked with relationship managers and product specialists. Previously, Yamashita held positions as director of investor relations at SVP Global and managing director at Tanaka Value Investments KK.

Yamashita earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Kyoto University.
