Davis Polk hired Nick Caro as a partner in the sponsor finance practice in New York.

“As we continue to grow our private equity practice, we have a need for additional bench strength to service our financial sponsor clients,” Neil Barr, managing partner of Davis Polk, said. “Nick is an outstanding lawyer with a valuable mix of private equity and corporate finance experience and has strong relationships with many prominent sponsors. I am pleased to welcome him to Davis Polk.”

Caro represents a wide range of clients, including private equity firms and their portfolio companies, public and private companies, family offices, private wealth funds and other issuers and investors. His practice focuses on leveraged finance, including broadly syndicated facilities, private credit, PIK preferred equity and other private capital solutions; recurring revenue loans; venture capital and early-stage company debt facilities; and complex debt restructurings and liability management transactions. Prior to joining Davis Polk, Caro was a partner in the private equity and debt finance practices at Goodwin Procter.

“Nick is highly regarded by peers and clients for his deep substantive knowledge of the market, his commitment to client service and his constructiveness,” J.W. Perry, head of Davis Polk’s sponsor finance practice, said. “Nick has a broad practice, focusing primarily on private equity, but with a strong foundation in both corporate and venture debt. He is an experienced addition to our team, and we are thrilled to welcome him.”

“Davis Polk is a phenomenal firm with an exceptional group of finance lawyers that I am thrilled to now call my colleagues,” Caro said. “I am honored to join the team and look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues as we guide clients on their most sophisticated financings.”

Caro received his B.A. from Loyola Marymount University in 2009 and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2012.
