Alvarez & Marsal Expands Tech and Transformation Services Within Healthcare Group

byPhil Neuffer

in People

Alvarez & Marsal’s healthcare industry group expanded its technology advisory and transformation services with the addition of Ian Donner and Avishek Nandi as senior directors in New York. This expanded capability is in response to clients’ increasing need for specialized technology advisory and strategic transformation services amidst complex healthcare challenges.

Donner and Nandi have more than 15 years of experience in information technology (IT) and hands-on knowledge in healthcare business transformation. They joined A&M after serving across segments of the healthcare industry and bring insights in employing technology for business optimization and value creation.

“Today’s healthcare organizations operate in a complex and continually evolving environment. New technology, the consumerism of medicine and digitization have created new opportunities to make healthcare more affordable, higher quality and more accessible,” Martin McGahan, managing director and co-head of A&M’s healthcare industry group, said. “However, big technology bets can often fail, negatively impacting a company’s operations and financial performance. The stakes are high for healthcare organizations making strategic technology priorities integral to their business operations. Ian and Avishek have proven track records of helping companies successfully navigate dynamic environments aligned with A&M’s leadership, action, results approach.”

Donner’s primary areas of concentration will be strategy and operations, IT cost optimization, complex transformations and due diligence. He has healthcare knowledge and expertise in commercial markets and government programs. His executive leadership experience includes working with national and international healthcare organizations, multi-market health plans and startups. Prior to joining A&M, Donner spent several years with Anthem, where he most recently served as vice president of IT business relationship management and service transformation.

Nandi will focus on helping clients with IT strategy planning for product innovation and business transformation, post-merger technology integration, technology organization optimization and vendor evaluation and contracting. Prior to joining A&M, Nandi spent seven years with Cigna Health Insurance Company serving as program director. He led Cigna’s partnership with an insurance technology company and developed the post-merger integration plan for a divestiture.
