Alvarez & Marsal Bring on Herndon, Boyer as Managing Directors

in People

Alvarez & Marsal added Rogers Herndon and Danny Boyer as managing directors to its energy practice based in Houston.

With more than 29 years of experience within the energy sector, Herndon specializes in corporate transformations, cash flow improvement, M&A planning and integration, strategic advisory and interim management roles. He has led change initiatives and strategic M&A execution across the upstream, midstream, oilfield services and utility sectors.

Most recently, as the former CEO of Quintana Energy Services, Herndon led the company as it pursued transformative consolidation and navigated the market downturn in 2015 – 2016 and a subsequent IPO in February 2018. Earlier in his career, Herndon served as executive vice president and member of the office of the CEO for Reliant Energy. He has held leadership roles with Bank of America Global Commodities, PSE&G, Enron and Dynegy, and was a co-founder of Phillips Royalty Partners.

Boyer brings more than 17 years of experience partnering with clients across the industry on M&A transactions and business transformation efforts.

Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Boyer served as a managing director at Deloitte Consulting, where he was a leader in the energy M&A practice. During his career, he has advised on transactions across the oil and gas value chain and other capital-intensive sectors, serving large and mid-cap corporations and private equity firms

“A&M’s focus on leadership, action and results aligns with the increasing complexity of our oil and gas sector clients’ needs from transaction to transformation,” Tom Elsenbrook, managing director and leader of Alvarez & Marsal corporate performance improvement, said. “Danny’s track record of advising on successful, high-value transactions and Rogers’ nearly three decades of energy industry leadership complement and build upon the depth and breadth of our advisory services for clients.”

Alvarez & Marsal is a professional services firm that provides advisory, business performance improvement and turnaround management services.
