Amar Kapadia joined Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) in its healthcare industry group as a managing director, based in Chicago. Kapadia has more than 20 years of international merger and acquisition, strategy, diligence and operations experience spanning the healthcare and life science industry.

Kapadia advises private equity firms, large corporates and portfolio companies on deal strategy, commercial and operational due diligence, merger integration, performance improvement and divestiture management. As a merger integration and separation expert, he has led hundreds of healthcare and life sciences transactions in more than 20 countries.

“Amar’s global due diligence and integration experience will help clients navigate current challenges and anticipate future opportunities,” Martin McGahan, healthcare industry group co-head for A&M, said. “His operational diligence and performance improvement expertise augments our ability to unlock investment value for clients.”

Kapadia’s leadership has included advising private equity portfolio companies across multiple transactions, global diligence and integration planning and carve outs. His experience spans across healthcare and life sciences sub-sectors, including healthcare technology, medical device, biopharma, CROs, community health services and healthcare distribution.

“We have seen tremendous growth in the demand for our M&A service offering as our PE and Corporate clients seek an edge in their pursuit of new investments,” David Schlissel, managing director and leader of the healthcare services practice at A&M, said. “Amar’s depth of healthcare and transactional knowledge combined with his operational expertise will provide clients with a distinct advantage as they seek to optimize the value of their strategic investment opportunities. His results-driven leadership style aligns with A&M’s culture.”

Prior to joining A&M, Kapadia led KPMG’s healthcare and life sciences operational due diligence service offering. Previously, he led corporate strategy and M&A at global healthcare and technology firms, including McKesson and Vocollect (now owned by Honeywell). Earlier, he served as a technology strategy consultant with Sapient.
