AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, is expanding its German turnaround and restructuring services practice with the addition of a highly respected expert in carve-outs and restructurings featuring complex human resources elements. Tom Gellrich joins the firm from Roland Berger as a partner and managing director in the AlixPartners Munich office.

With over 25 years of leadership experience and a proven record in driving significant operational change, Gellrich’s experience centers on large-scale cost reduction, performance improvement and restructuring programs across Europe, along with mergers, acquisitions and corporate carve-outs. His impressive career includes nearly six years at Roland Berger, where he served as a senior partner and as co-head of organisation, people and transformation and leadership roles at goetzpartners and Commerzbank AG, where he played a critical role in building restructuring and performance functions. During this time, Gellrich worked with clients from across a diverse range of sectors, including logistics, telecommunications, travel, automotive, aviation, consumer goods and financial services.

In addition to his consulting work, Gellrich is an industry-recognised leader and has previously served as a professor of banking & finance at the International School of Management in Germany. He has also held a leadership role as chairman of the Supervisory Board at InfraSolution AG.

“We are delighted to welcome Tom to the AlixPartners team,” Andreas Rüter, head of AlixPartners Germany, said. “His extensive expertise in managing challenging, high impact restructuring initiatives and his focus on aligning business goals with human capital strategies make him an invaluable resource for our clients as they navigate complex operational and financial demands.”
