Aksia, a specialist portfolio advisory firm providing alternative investment solutions to clients across private equity, private credit, hedge funds, natural resources, infrastructure and real estate, hired Tod Trabocco and Veronica Bateman for its private credit platform.

Trabocco joined the firm’s New York office as a managing director and private credit strategist, reporting to Tim Nest (head of private credit research) and Patrick Adelsbach (co-head of advisory in the Americas). Trabocco will work with the firm’s investment research team, portfolio advisory team and clients on investment sourcing and evaluation along with portfolio strategy.

Trabocco has more than 25 years of credit markets experience. Most recently, he was the head of product and strategy at Industrial Transportation Equipment (ITE) Management. Prior to ITE, he was head of private credit research and manager selection at Cambridge Associates, where he chaired the credit investment committee. Before that, Trabocco held private credit roles at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors and LBC Credit Partners and was a credit analyst at Moody’s.

Bateman joined Aksia’s London office as a senior vice president and private credit strategist. She will be involved in all phases of the research and investment process, reporting to Nest and Valerie Benard (head of Aksia Europe).

Bateman has more than 19 years of credit markets experience, providing specialist transaction structuring, debt placement and restructuring advice to private equity funds, portfolio companies and corporate clients across Europe. Most recently, Bateman was a managing partner at Talbot Leyborne Partners, a debt advisory firm. Prior to that, she was a managing director at Capital Markets Initiative and previously worked in European financial sponsor coverage and leveraged finance at both Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse, based in London.
