in People

Abacus Finance Group, a provider of cash flow-based, classic senior debt for sponsor-led buyouts of companies with $3 million to $15 million in EBITDA, promoted Joseph Lee from senior associate to vice president and Jacob Wise and Austin Rendell from analysts to associates.

“We begin 2021 celebrating Abacus’s 10th anniversary. As the experience of our investment team continues to deepen, we are better prepared to meet our goal of always providing our sponsors with the talent and resources that will deliver swift and efficient service and give them peace of mind,” Tim Clifford, president and CEO of Abacus, said. “The strength of our investment team and our ability to move quickly are important aspects of why they can ‘Count on Us’ and the effectiveness of our ‘Total Partnership Approach.’”

Lee joined Abacus Finance in 2014 as an analyst and works as part of the investment team in structuring, underwriting, executing, monitoring and valuing investments for the firm. Previously, he served as an analyst at GE Capital. Lee began his career at General Electric in the financial management program.

Wise joined Abacus Finance in 2019 as an analyst and works as part of the investment team in the structuring, underwriting and execution of new investments while also performing various portfolio monitoring and valuation roles. Previously, Lee was an analyst at BMO Capital Markets in its leveraged finance group.

Rendell, who joined Abacus Finance in 2019 as an analyst, works as part of the investment team in the structuring, underwriting and execution of new investments. He also performs various portfolio monitoring and valuation roles. Previously, Rendell was an analyst at BMO Harris Bank in its food and consumer group.
