Verisma, a health information lifecycle management (HILM) company, closed new senior-secured financing provided by Golub Capital. The financing, which includes a delayed draw term loan facility, is designed to support Verisma’s strategic growth initiatives, including continued investment in its technology platform and pursuit of acquisition opportunities.
Verisma is backed by NewSpring Capital, a private equity firm that partners with companies in healthcare, business services and technology.
“The function of ‘health information management’ within an organization has evolved significantly over the past several years,” Marty McKenna, CEO of Verisma, said. Traditionally viewed as a purely administrative function, healthcare leaders now recognize that effective HILM contributes significantly to improved continuity of care, care gap closure, quality performance and reimbursement optimization.
“It is a dynamic market, and Verisma is poised to expand both its leadership position and its footprint as the premier HILM vendor,” McKenna added. “Golub Capital’s financing gives us the firepower to accelerate our growth, through both organic development and M&A.”
Verisma released several new technologies this year designed to improve efficiency and help healthcare organizations better manage and use health information. Inbound Document Intelligence enables organizations to extract outcomes data for quality reporting and reimbursement optimization, while Archiving Chart Search allows clinical and HILM users to locate information across archived patient records, no matter how many categories or systems they span.
Black Book Research named Verisma the top vendor for release of information and HILM for the eighth consecutive year.
“Verisma has established a strong position in the healthcare data market through its focus on innovation, deep customer relationships, and operational excellence,” Spyro Alexopoulos, co-president and co-head of sponsor finance at Golub Capital, said. “We are pleased to partner with Verisma and NewSpring Capital to support the company’s long-term growth objectives.”
