Wells Fargo announced that John Manning, executive vice president and head of commercial banking market coverage, will retire at the end of the year after more than 30 years with the bank.

Rob Biodrowski, who is based in Chicago, will succeed Manning in the role starting in November. Biodrowski currently serves as division executive for the U.S. Midwest within Wells Fargo Commercial Banking. He brings more than 20 years of financial services experience spanning commercial and investment banking leadership roles.

In his new post, Biodrowski will lead a team of more than 2,000 bankers serving clients across the U.S. and Canada. The commercial banking market coverage unit generally serves companies with annual revenue between $25 million and $2 billion across a range of industries, according to the Finance News Network.

“I’m honored to take on this role and build upon the strong foundation John and our teams have created,” Biodrowski said in a statement.

Biodrowski previously served as managing director and head of Middle Market Investment Banking Coverage for Wells Fargo, overseeing investment banking business generated out of 12 regional offices nationwide. He rejoined Wells Fargo from Citigroup, where he led Midwest Investment Banking, and earlier spent nearly two decades at Wells Fargo in Regional Investment Banking and Industrials Investment Banking roles. He holds a B.S. from the University of Nebraska.

Manning’s career in financial services spans more than 40 years.
