Mark Metcalfe, executive vice president and Central and South Texas president at Susser Bank, has been named to the Texas Bankers Association’s board of directors.

Metcalfe brings more than 30 years of commercial banking and leadership experience to the board. Based in Austin, he oversees Susser Bank’s banking operations across Central and South Texas, including the bank’s technology banking group. Metcalfe has been actively involved in banking and community organizations throughout Texas and remains committed to supporting the long-term strength and growth of the state’s banking industry.

“It is an honor to serve alongside banking leaders from across the state,” Metcalfe said. “I look forward to supporting the Texas Bankers Association’s work to strengthen our industry, encourage innovation and ensure Texas banks continue serving as trusted partners to their clients and communities.”

Sam L. Susser, chairman and CEO of Susser Bank, added, “Banking remains a relationship business, and no one embodies that better than Mark. Throughout his career, he has earned the trust of clients, colleagues and communities across Texas. His appointment is well deserved, and our industry will benefit from his leadership and perspective.”

Metcalfe’s term runs from June 1, 2026, through May 31, 2027. Founded in 1885, the Texas Bankers Association represents approximately 400 member banks and advocates for the banking industry at the state and federal levels. As a member of the board, Metcalfe will help support the association’s mission of promoting a strong, competitive and innovative banking environment across Texas.
