Abacus Finance Group, a provider of cash flow-based, senior debt for sponsor-led investments in lower middle-market companies, served as senior secured credit facilities administrative agent and lead arranger to support SBJ Capital’s strategic investment in 3B International, a global fragrance developer and brand creator.

This partnership will support 3B’s continued growth while continuing the company’s heritage of product development and longstanding brand and retailer partnerships.

“This was our first transaction with Abacus and they proved to be an excellent partner,” Porter Hall, principal at SBJ Capital said. “Their team moved quickly and understood the business immediately which provided a high certainty to close.”

Tim Clifford, CEO and founding partner of Abacus Finance, said, “We are elated to complete out first partnership with SBJ. As in past transactions, our success was a function of our speed, structural flexibility and certainty of close – key aspects of what we call our total partnership approach.”

Seth Friedman, senior managing director of Abacus Finance, added, “It was with great pleasure that we were able to support SBJ and the founders and management team of 3B – both are strong growing businesses with attractive tailwinds.”

Greg Scanlon, vice president of Abacus Finance, said, “We were thrilled to be a member of the partnership with SBJ and 3B. SBJ’s diligence was extensive and quickly got us up to speed.”

Tori Simon, analyst at Abacus, also helped lead the transaction. Legal counsel was provided by – Goulston & Storrs.
