Matt Dekutoski brings more than 36 years of banking industry experience, including 26 years in asset-based lending. As managing director of Business Development at Pathward for the last 19 years, he’s witnessed the evolution of specialty finance and the structural changes that have reshaped risk assessment. Dekutoski observes that the significant improvement in the quality and depth of borrower data since the 1990s has transformed underwriting models. “The increased quality of information reported by borrowers today has delivered meaningful efficiencies and enabled lenders to provide solutions with differentiated structures and terms,” he notes. This advancement has strengthened internal credit analysis while expanding access to capital across a broader range of borrowers.
