Cassandra Prce
Director of Risk
REV Capital

Cassandra Prce’s career trajectory is a testament to the power of adaptability and continuous learning. Starting with a bachelor’s degree in biology and environmental sciences, Prce began her professional journey outside the financial sector, working as a biologist for organizations like Ducks Unlimited Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.

A significant career pivot in job location and a desire to stay close to her family led Prce to explore new opportunities, landing her a role as an accounts payable clerk for a transportation company. Despite having no background in business or accounting, Prce’s innate curiosity and aptitude for numbers quickly led her to the asset-based lending and factoring industry, starting with a data entry role. Throughout her 16-year tenure in factoring, Prce has held multiple roles, including positions in cash posting, collections, account management, operations manager and, most recently, director of risk, demonstrating her versatile skill set and deep understanding of the industry.

Prce’s impact on the ABL industry is marked by her commitment to knowledge sharing and innovation. She values open discussion and the exchange of ideas, believing that questioning processes and encouraging curiosity is vital for growth and improvement. Her approach to mentorship and training emphasizes clarity and understanding, aiming to replace confusion with confidence.

Speaking on the importance of risk detection and mitigation strategies, Prce says, “‘Trust but verify’ was drilled into my head in the first weeks of my factoring career. My experience has taught me the importance of diligence and verification, especially in an industry where trust is critical but must be balanced with caution.”

Looking ahead, Prce is focused on staying abreast of technological advancements affecting both operational processes and the nature of fraud within the ABL industry, eagerly anticipating the next wave of innovations that will shape the future of factoring.
