Greenberg Traurig

Arleen Nand has accumulated nearly two decades of experience as an attorney. She has represented commercial, cooperative, development and investment banks, as well as hedge funds, private equity firms and corporations in cross-border and domestic financings.

Originally gaining experience at Faegre Baker Daniels and DLA Piper, Nand joined Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder in 2019. She also serves as co-chair of the firm’s global food, beverage and agribusiness practice and global chair of the firm’s agribusiness practice. In addition to these roles, Nand manages two significant commercial banking relationships at the firm and has served as lead counsel on numerous financings.

Nand learned early in her career to focus on her expertise and what she could offer to the profession. As a member of numerous professional organizations, including the National Association of Women Lawyers, where she sits on the board, Nand has had several opportunities to make a positive impact on the financial services industry. She serves as a vice chair of the American Bar Association’s commercial finance committee, for which she has been able to provide knowledge and strategic guidance for lawyers in commercial finance, real estate finance and restructuring while facilitating the evolution of these areas of law.

“The landscape of finance is fast-paced, requiring nimbleness and adaptability when changes occur,” Nand says.

Nand emphasizes the importance of advancing one’s own industry knowledge on a regular basis, as she says being informed of industry trends has guided her business decisions and has contributed to her long-term career success. Nand also believes in the significance of establishing strong relationships, as such bonding can foster a collaborative environment with colleagues while strengthening relationships with clients.

As her career continues to unfold, Nand hopes to utilize her role as a mentor to provide guidance to aspiring leaders and contribute to the advancement of women in the commercial finance industry
