Citizens Financial appointed Ted Swimmer, head of corporate finance and capital markets for Citizens Commercial Banking, to the company’s executive committee.
Swimmer leads teams responsible for helping clients and sponsors raise capital and syndicate loans, along with providing interest rate, foreign exchange, leasing, ABL and structured finance solutions.
“Ted has built a strong corporate finance and capital markets business, with emphasis on providing clients with excellent ideas, advice and solutions,” said Bruce Van Saun, Citizens chairman and CEO. “He is a strong and highly capable leader and we welcome his contribution to our executive committee.”
A 25-year banking industry veteran, Swimmer joined Citizens in 2010 as executive vice president and head of capital markets. He has built the Capital Markets team into a consistent Top 10 U.S. Middle Market Deal Bookrunner while expanding the bank’s capabilities beyond traditional loan financing.
Swimmer previously held a range of senior positions with Wachovia, including managing its Leveraged Finance activities. Prior to that, he ran Loan Syndicate and Sales for Wachovia and served as a managing director originating leveraged loans and bonds.
