Simon Adds Restructuring Professionals Williams and Monheit as Senior Managing Directors

Daniel Williams and Barry Monheit joined Simon Consulting as senior managing directors.

Williams has more than 30 years of experience as a restructuring professional. He has advised underperforming companies in a variety of industries through the restructuring and recapitalization process, and is frequently contacted by secured lenders, creditor constituents or debtors to assist their portfolio companies in the development of strategic and restructuring alternatives. His experience includes serving as lead partner on restructuring, corporate finance, bankruptcy and turnaround engagements. He also has served as a court appointed trustee in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases, examiner, examiner with expanded powers for the purpose of investigating fraud, expert witness and Section 702 expert (Judge’s expert) in bankruptcy court.

Williams is a certified public accountant licensed in Arizona. Williams was the Phoenix office managing partner as well as the regional consulting head at RSM, Arizona’s second largest accounting firm. Additionally, he was Deloitte’s U.S. managing partner of restructuring and served as the regional managing partner at Arthur Andersen, responsible for the central and west region of the global corporate finance group.

Monheit has more than 40 years of experience as a hands-on strategic advisor and senior executive focusing on turnaround and restructuring matters. Monheit has provided expert services in mergers and acquisitions, board fiduciary duties, corporate governance, strategic and budgetary processes, and forensic financial matters.  His areas of expertise include turnaround and restructuring, solvency, feasibility, business valuation, and damages. Monheit has been the lead consultant on bankruptcies and out of court restructurings. Monheit also has served as trustee and examiner in multiple matters. Additionally, he has provided expert testimony in complex financial matters more than 100 times throughout his career.

Monheit is the co-founder and former president of the financial division of FTI Consulting. Monheit has served on the boards of several public and private companies and is currently the chairman of the board of American Outdoor Brands.
