Eversheds Sutherland Welcomes Counsel Barav-Johnson

Eversheds Sutherland welcomed Danielle (Dahni) Barav-Johnson as a counsel to the U.S. finance practice group’s restructuring and insolvency team, re-joining partner Todd Meyers, who arrived earlier this month to co-lead the team with partner David Wender.

Based in the Atlanta office, Barav-Johnson represents clients in corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and other insolvency-related matters, with particular experience focused on corporate debtors, creditors and creditors’ committees in Chapter 11 proceedings and complex bankruptcy litigation.

Barav-Johnson’s in-court and out-of-court insolvency and bankruptcy experience includes out- of-court solutions, sale transactions under section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code, bankruptcy litigation and appeals, set-off of debts, fraudulent conveyance and preferential transfer actions and automatic stay issues. Her work spans many industries, including the healthcare, pharmaceutical, fitness, aviation, energy, transportation, manufacturing, mass tort, asbestos and entertainment sectors.

Barav-Johnson is the 10th attorney to join the U.S. finance group since its formation in early 2022, continuing the team’s strategic focus on providing comprehensive counsel to clients that are routinely engaged in market-leading and high-stakes financial transactions.

“I am excited that Dahni is joining our U.S. restructuring and insolvency team and our larger U.S. finance practice group, where she will be a strong adviser to clients navigating an increasingly complex global financial landscape,” Wender said. “Dahni’s diverse, cross-industry and cross-border experience will help us further develop and expand our out-of-court and in-court capabilities to support clients with a truly broad restructuring practice in key U.S. markets.”

“I am thrilled that Dahni has chosen Eversheds Sutherland as the next chapter in her well-established legal career,” Meyers said. “Having worked with Dahni the past few years, I have observed her legal acumen, client-centric approach and many successful client outcomes and I look forward to bringing on her deep experience that will benefit our current and future clients.”

Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Barav-Johnson was a counsel on the bankruptcy and financial restructuring team of an international law firm.

Beyond her practice, Barav-Johnson is the co-chair of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC)’s Georgia Network, which fosters and promotes networking among women in the restructuring industry in Georgia.

She also maintains an active pro bono practice and volunteers with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF).
