AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, is expanding its German turnaround and restructuring services practice with the addition of a highly respected expert in carve-outs and restructurings featuring complex human resources elements. Tom Gellrich joins the firm from Roland Berger as a partner and managing director in the AlixPartners Munich office.
With over 25 years of leadership experience and a proven record in driving significant operational change, Gellrich’s experience centers on large-scale cost reduction, performance improvement and restructuring programs across Europe, along with mergers, acquisitions and corporate carve-outs. His impressive career includes nearly six years at Roland Berger, where he served as a senior partner and as co-head of organisation, people and transformation and leadership roles at goetzpartners and Commerzbank AG, where he played a critical role in building restructuring and performance functions. During this time, Gellrich worked with clients from across a diverse range of sectors, including logistics, telecommunications, travel, automotive, aviation, consumer goods and financial services.
In addition to his consulting work, Gellrich is an industry-recognised leader and has previously served as a professor of banking & finance at the International School of Management in Germany. He has also held a leadership role as chairman of the Supervisory Board at InfraSolution AG.
