Weaver Appoints Wilson to Lead Consulting Practice

Based in Houston, Randy Wilson will oversee the firm’s consulting teams delivering strategic advisory, digital transformation, commodity trading advisory and energy transition services to clients across the energy, utilities and financial services sectors.

Weaver, a national accounting and advisory firm, has appointed Randy Wilson as partner-in-charge of its consulting practice. Based in Houston, he will oversee the firm’s consulting teams delivering strategic advisory, digital transformation, commodity trading advisory and energy transition services to clients across the energy, utilities and financial services sectors.

Wilson has more than 30 years of experience in global energy markets, with leadership roles spanning North America and Europe. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with boards and executive leadership teams on commodity trading strategy, finance transformation, risk management and regulatory oversight. At Weaver, he has helped organizations strengthen trading operations, modernize financial and operational processes and evaluate emerging opportunities tied to energy transition and digital innovation.

“Randy brings deep market insight and a practical understanding of the complex forces shaping today’s energy and utilities organizations as well as the broader industries we serve,” Brian Thomas, national practice leader, advisory services at Weaver, said. “His leadership strengthens our Consulting practice and enhances our ability to help clients stay ahead of market volatility, regulatory demands and technology-driven change.”

Wilson has led complex engagements across the technology, financial services and energy sectors, advising organizations on finance transformation, operational strategy and emerging technology adoption. His work includes supporting digital and data-driven initiatives, helping organizations navigate evolving regulatory and sustainability expectations, and advancing the commercialization of innovative technologies. His client experience spans major global organizations across these industries.

Wilson received an MBA from Oregon State University, an APIM in international management from Copenhagen Business School and holds a bachelor of science from the University of British Columbia.
