Tompkins Community Bank Expands Commercial Lending Teams

byBrianna Wilson

in People

An expansion of its commercial lending team, Tompkins Community Bank has appointed Andrew Stackhouse to business development officer, commercial lending, and Jonathan Ellensworth to commercial relationship manager. Stackhouse will spearhead new business development for southeastern Pennsylvania across Tompkins’ commercial lending, cash management, insurance and wealth services, while Ellensworth will manage, nurture and build relationships with local businesses and existing clients in the greater Philadelphia region.

“I am confident that the addition of Andrew and Jonathan will expand our work in and around Philadelphia,” James Whitton, senior vice president and senior loan officer of Tompkins’ Pennsylvania market, said. “Both Andrew and Jonathan have over a decade of experience in the financial industry, with a penchant for new business development. This, accompanied by the pair’s undeniable leadership capabilities, make them a great fit for our commercial lending team and for Tompkins at large.”

A graduate of Spring Garden College’s business management program, Stackhouse previously held leadership roles at Univest (formerly Fox Chase Bank), Bancorp Bank, Commonwealth Bank and Jefferson Bank. An active member of his community, Stackhouse is a founding member of Philadelphia’s Lighthouse Soccer Club, in addition to his work with local charities and associations. He currently resides in Warrington, PA with his wife and four sons.

Ellensworth, a graduate of Temple University’s Fox School of Business and the Risk Management Association’s Commercial Lending School, worked as Firstrust Bank’s vice president and senior relationship manager prior to his new role. In his current role, Ellensworth will report to Angelo Ramierez, greater Philadelphia regional leader. He currently serves the boards and finance committees of Habitat for Humanity – Philadelphia and Surrey Services for Seniors. Ellensworth resides in East Fallowfield, PA with his wife; the couple are expecting their first child this October.
