CFO reported that despite a sluggish M&A market, leveraged buyout valuations hit their highest level in more than a year in June.
Fitch Ratings said in a report that signs of a pickup in LBO and M&A transactions, financed in part by leverage loans, may boost fee revenues, but Fitch sees the potential for balance-sheet risk for major U.S. banks in the process.
CFO reported that if the proposed $24.4 billion Dell deal is approved by the company’s shareholders, it will be the biggest leveraged buyout since the beginning of the financial crisis in 2007.
