STRIPES Leadership Program’s Second Cohort Graduates in Philadelphia

STRIPES Leadership Program, the professional and personal leadership development program created in partnership with Monitor, held its second in-person certification ceremony on Dec. 1 at LEAF Commercial Capital in Philadelphia. The intimate, all-day ceremony included participant sharing, lunch, a diploma ceremony, a cocktail reception and keynote speaker Miles Herman, president and COO of LEAF Commercial Capital.

STRIPES’ second cohort of graduates shared their personal takeaways and breakthroughs from their 10-month STRIPES journey, as well as examples of their transformation as leaders as a direct result of the Program. Graduates were then awarded their diplomas by STRIPES leadership in front of fellow STRIPES participants, managers, mentors, and executive leadership who attended the event to congratulate the participants for becoming certified STRIPES Leaders.

“Because of STRIPES, I’m no longer an ‘employee;’ I’m a leader,” Valerie King, sales leader at PEAC Solutions, said.

“I’ve never taken the time out to work on myself,” David Miles, vice president and director of credit at Eastern Funding, said. “STRIPES gave me the tools to look at my leadership style and grow myself. I am a lot more empathetic than I would have been had I not done the program.”

“My time in STRIPES was so rewarding. I learned how to question my own thinking and how to relate to others in a more authentic way. My STRIPES project, which initially seemed out of reach, came to life this summer as Monitor Suite, a new subscription service created by the Monitor team to serve the equipment finance industry,” Rita Garwood, editor-in-chief of the Monitor. “I’m so grateful for the fellowship created by the members of my cohort and for each of the Master Workshop and Master Talk leaders for sharing their wisdom with us along our journey. Thank you to the STRIPES team for a truly transformative experience.”

“Our second cohort of STRIPES graduates have demonstrated incredible dedication to the program,” Blair Dawson, executive director and general manager of STRIPES Leadership Program, said. “Their transformation is immeasurable. We’re so proud of them for completing this journey.”

STRIPES Cohort 4 begins in April of 2023. Enrollment is open, but seating is limited. Reach out to STRIPES Dawson at blair.dawson@stripesleadership.com, for more information. STRIPES Leadership Program is meant for leaders at all stages of their leadership journey; any and all leaders are welcome.
